The conception for this project came from observing the excavation of a pond in a public garden.  The idea to disturb the stillness of the glass-like water was distressful, but the thought of uniting the sculptor and the excavator deserved some attention.

The construction process, explained here, does not require a huge displacement of earth, but rather is a possible example of ways to mold or model the dirt in large, cost effective, proportions, by taking advantage of these types of excavations.
